Listening to God

Listening to God

11 September 2017 by Alison Tsang

Over the summer I had the please to meet with Fr Richard Bastable of St Lukes W12, to hear how the church is meeting the needs of its local community through offering a space called Crafternoon Tea.

Crafternoon Tea is the parishes response following on from a community audit. Crafternoon Tea and meets the need of a communal space in W12 for local residents to come together as well as drawing in outside agencies to address issues such as financial management and healthy affordable menus.

This simple and effective offer is, as one guest put it: “The highlight of my week.”

  1. be inspired as to why this work matters as part of the Church’s mission

  2. hear stories of hope and encouragement about things already happening and meet those in the parishes who are doing it

  3. connect with a rich range of resources and ideas available for parishes to respond to local need

At each evening, a keynote speaker will draw us deeper into the landscape surrounding Debt and Financial Exclusion, there will be opportunities to hear from parishes already engaged and a marketplace where you can meet local partners.
